Become a Certified Workplace
Bullying and Abuse Practitioner
Develop the knowledge, practical frameworks and professional judgment to effectively support individuals experiencing workplace bullying and abuse through the proprietary WBP methodology.
The WBP Certified Workplace Bullying & Abuse Practitioner™ program is a comprehensive
professional education program designed for coaches, therapists, HR professionals, attorneys,
union representatives, career professionals, leaders and others who want to better understand workplace bullying and abuse and provide informed, ethical support.
Why This Program Was Developed
People experiencing workplace bullying and abuse often find themselves navigating
one of the most complex and consequential challenges of their professional lives.
They may be trying to understand confusing workplace dynamics, recognize patterns of abusive
behavior, protect their livelihood, document what is happening, communicate strategically, evaluate
their options and make important decisions that can have lasting personal and professional consequences.
These are not ordinary workplace challenges.
Not even close.
Being bullied and abused at work is a life-changing event for those affected.
These specific workplace challenges require practitioners who understand the unique patterns
and dynamics of workplace bullying and abuse and possess the specialized knowledge, practical
frameworks and professional judgment needed to effectively support individuals through them.
Over thousands of hours supporting individuals experiencing workplace bullying and abuse, one
pattern has emerged again and again. Clients often describe seeking support from coaches,
therapists, attorneys, union representatives, medical professionals, human resources practitioners, career professionals and others who are highly skilled in their respective fields, yet many have limited knowledge of the unique dynamics of workplace bullying and abuse or how to effectively navigate these complex situations.
This is not a reflection of those professions. It reflects a gap in specialized education.
The WBP Certified Workplace Bullying & Abuse Practitioner™ program was created to
bridge that gap. Grounded in the proprietary WBP methodology, this comprehensive
professional education program equips practitioners with the specialized competencies
needed to recognize workplace abuse, understand workplace dynamics, identify patterns, support
strategic decision-making and provide informed, ethical guidance within the WBP scope of practice.

What Makes the WBP Methodology Different
The WBP methodology wasn't built from a single discipline. It was intentionally developed by integrating insights
from multiple fields to better understand one of the most complex human systems we'll ever navigate: work.
Grounded in thousands of hours supporting individuals experiencing workplace bullying and abuse, the methodology combines practical experience with research from Applied Organizational Anthropology, organizational behavior, human behavior, systems thinking, leadership, trauma-informed practice, positive psychology and related disciplines to provide practitioners with a structured approach to understanding and responding to workplace bullying and abuse.
Rather than relying on isolated concepts or one-size-fits-all advice, the WBPmethodology helps practitioners recognize
patterns, understand workplace dynamicsand support strategic decision-making through practical, evidence-informed frameworks.
The WBP methodology is Grounded in Seven Core Foundations
Applied Organizational Anthropology
Applied Organizational Anthropology is one of the best-kept secrets in understanding the human side of work. While few people have heard of the field, it offers powerful insights into workplace culture, organizational behavior and the patterns that shape how people experience work. Rather than focusing solely on individuals, it examines the relationships between people, culture, systems and environment—making it an especially powerful lens for understanding workplace bullying and abuse.
The WBP methodology was developed by Lauri Lillie, who holds a Master of Science in Applied Organizational Anthropology, and this systems and human-centric perspective serves as one of the defining intellectual foundations of the program. It helps practitioners recognize not only what is happening, but why it is happening.
Human Behavior & Pattern Recognition
Understanding workplace bullying requires more than identifying inappropriate behavior. The WBP methodology teaches practitioners to recognize recurring behavioral, interpersonal and organizational patterns while developing a deeper understanding of how people think, behave and interact within workplace environments. Looking beyond isolated incidents allows practitioners to recognize larger patterns, identify emerging risks and better understand the realities Clients are experiencing.
Systems Thinking & Organizational Dynamics
Workplace bullying does not occur in isolation. Leadership, workplace culture, organizational structures, incentives and group dynamics all influence how workplace abuse develops, persists and spreads. The WBP methodology helps practitioners understand these interconnected systems rather than viewing workplace bullying as simply a conflict between individuals.
Trauma-Informed Practice
Individuals experiencing workplace bullying and abuse may be navigating prolonged stress, heightened vigilance and significant uncertainty while making important workplace decisions. The WBP methodology incorporates trauma-informed principles that prioritize psychological safety, preserve client agency and help practitioners provide support in ways that reduce the risk of causing additional harm. While WBP Practitioners do not diagnose or treat trauma, they learn to recognize when trauma may be influencing a Client's experience and adapt their approach accordingly.
Strategic Decision-Making
The goal of the WBP methodology is not to tell Clients what decisions to make. It is to help them build the clarity, readiness and strategic thinking needed to evaluate options, preserve agency and make informed decisions that align with their goals, values and circumstances.
Practical Frameworks
Knowledge alone is rarely enough. Throughout the program, practitioners learn to apply proprietary WBP frameworks that bring structure, consistency and practical application to complex workplace situations. These frameworks help practitioners translate knowledge into thoughtful, strategic action while maintaining consistency in their approach.
Ethical Practice
Effective support requires more than expertise—it requires sound professional judgment and a commitment to ethical practices. Practitioners learn to apply the WBP methodology ethically, recognize the limits of their role and work within the WBP Scope of Practice™. They also learn to recognize when additional expertise may benefit a Client and how to support Clients in intentionally building and utilizing their own Support Huddle™ without stepping beyond the practitioner's role.

Help Clients See the Patterns and Name the Problem
One of the most powerful forms of support is helping Clients understand what they're actually experiencing. Many individuals know something feels wrong but cannot explain the patterns, dynamics or behaviors that have left them confused, overwhelmed or questioning themselves. Learn to recognize workplace abuse patterns, accurately name the dynamics at play and help Clients make sense of experiences that once felt chaotic. Clarity doesn't solve every problem—but it often changes everything by giving Clients a framework for understanding their reality and making more informed decisions.
